Indian captain Rohit Sharma holds the 5th spot on this list with 318 runs to his name in 16 innings. Rohit has scored 3 fifties while striking at 133.61 in T20Is against Australia. In the 15th match of World T20 2010, India were chasing a target of 185 against Australia. While all the other batters failed to cross the 15-run mark for India, Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 79 runs off just 46 balls with 4 fours & 6 sixes. However, India were bowled out for 135 and lost the match by 49 runs.

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan ranks next as he has scored 347 runs against Australia in 13 innings, striking at 139.35 with 2 fifties to his name. Dhawan's top score against this opposition came in the 1st T20I at Brisbane in 2018, where India were chasing 174 to win in 17 overs. Dhawan smacked 72 runs off just 42 balls with 10 fours & 2 sixes, but India ultimately fell short by 3 runs.

Swashbuckling Australian batter Glenn Maxwell ranks third on this list with 431 runs in 15 innings, at a strike rate of 146.59 while scoring a century and two half-centuries. Maxwell's best knock against India was a match-winning inning, as Australia were chasing 191 to win in the 2nd T20I at Bangalore in 2019. Batting at #4, Maxwell remained unbeaten on 113 runs off just 55 balls with 7 fours & 9 sixes, taking the Aussies to a 7-wicket win with 2 deliveries remaining. 


#2. Aaron Finch (440 runs)

Australian skipper Aaron Finch ranks next with 440 runs in 15 innings with a strike rate of 136.22, registering 2 fifties against India to his name. In the only T20I at Rajkot in 2013, Aaron Finch smacked 89 runs off just 52 balls with 14 fours & a six, powering Australia to a total of 201/7 in 20 overs. However, these efforts were undone by legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who smashed an unbeaten 77 runs off just 35 balls with 8 fours & 5 sixes to take his team to a 6-wicket win with 2 deliveries remaining.

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli stands atop this list with 718 runs in 18 innings. Not only in India vs Australia, but this total is also the highest amongst all batters in T20Is against Australia. Kohli averages a terrific 59.83 while striking at 146.23, registering 7 half-centuries against the Kangaroos. In the 1st T20I at Adelaide in 2016, Virat Kohli smashed an unbeaten 90 runs off 55 balls with 9 fours & 2 sixes as India posted 188/3 in 20 overs after losing the toss & being put in to bat first. Australia were then bowled out for 151 in 19.3 overs as India won the match by 37 runs.
