The second ODI between the two teams got abandoned due to rain after the first half of the game was played.

The first bilateral series between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka gets off to a strong start after the Afghan team defeated the home side in the opening match and now leading the series by 1-0 and has gained significant Super League points.

Even though Afghanistan lost an early wicket, they started out in the batting department with all guns blazing, high on intent, and good use of a batting surface.

The second match got hindered by rain but in the first inning, Afghanistan batted first and scored 228/10 in 48.2 overs. Opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 68 runs. 

Rahmat Shah continued his form from the 1st ODI and struck 58 runs. The Centurian of the last match Ibrahim Zadran couldn't able to get big runs in this match and scored just 10 runs.

In the end skipper, Mohammad Nabi (41 in 34) got the third-highest runs for the team and Shahidi scored 28 runs.

For Sri Lanka, Kasun Rajitha scalped 3/31 in 9 overs which also included 2 maiden overs. Theekshana and Lahiru got 2 wickets each, whereas Hasaranga and de Silva dismissed a 1-1 wicket to their account.

In the first match, Pathum Nissanka (83) and Wanindu Hasaranga (66) batted well but due to the poor batting performance of other players, the home team couldn't able to get win against Afghanistan. 

While in the bowling all the Lankan bowlers went well and Hasaranga was the leading wicket-taker for the team with 2 dismissals.

On the other hand, Afghan bowling revolved around pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi who registered a 4-wicket haul to his name in 9 overs. Gulbadin Naib clinched 3/40 in 8 overs.

Yamin Ahmadzai took 2/46 in 6 overs, and Rashid Khan also took one wicket and made a day special for their team.
