South Africa are set to host England for a 3-match ODI series where the home team would look to avoid playing qualifiers in the upcoming World Cup with wins in this series.

SA vs ENG 1st ODI: Match Preview:

This series is a crucial one for home team South Africa as it will decide their fate in the ODI World Cup 2023 to be held in India. If the Proteas lose this series, they will have to play the qualifiers to feature in the main tournament. With SA20 on a one-week break, the Temba Bavuma-led side is at full strength with all the players available. Reeza Hendricks, Janneman Malan, Aiden Markram, David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen along with Quinton de Kock and Heinrich Klaasen will form a strong batting lineup.

Jofra Archer's return to the international circuit is the big highlight from England bowling. The pacer has shown form after a long time out due to injury and his return to the international stage for England can be beneficial with the upcoming World Cup in mind. Reece Topley, Olly Stone, David Willey, Sam Curran and Chris Woakes will be the other pacers while Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid will lead the spin department.
