KKR vs DC IPL 2022: Shreyas Iyer was the first-ever captain to lead the Delhi franchise into an IPL final, in 2020. However, after he was ruled out due to injury in the next season, his captaincy was taken from him. The right-handed batter was acquired by KKR as their leader, and now the talented batter has smacked his first fifty in KKR jersey, that too against his former franchise!

In the 19th match of IPL 2022 between Kolkata Knight Riders & Delhi Capitals at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, KKR got off to a disastrous start as both the openers were dismissed in the 5th over at a score of 38. However, captain Shreyas Iyer held the crease as his team had a mammoth target in front of them. 

Iyer smacked 54 runs off 33 balls, smacking 5 fours and 2 sixes with a strike rate of 163.64. This innings by the KKR skipper helped stabilise the KKR inning as they have to chase a huge total to win this match. 

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss & opted to bowl first against Delhi Capitals in the 19th match of IPL 2022. With thunderous knocks from openers Shaw (51) and Warner (61), DC posted a mammoth total of 215/5 in 20 overs. Shardul Thakur provided excellent finishing at the end with his unbeaten knock of 22 runs in 14 balls with 2 fours and a six. 

For KKR, Sunil Narine picked up 2 wickets while Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy & Andre Russell picked up 1 wicket each. While KKR is at the top of the table with 3 wins in 4 matches, DC are at the 7th spot with 2 losses in 3 matches.
