PBKS vs CSK IPL 2022: Shikhar Dhawan has been a stone for his franchise whenever it comes to scoring runs in the IPL. Scoring 600 runs from the past two seasons, Dhawan finally gained form against Chennai Super Kings as he took Punjab Kings to a good total with his unbeaten half-century.
Opening the innings with Mayank Agarwal, Dhawan had a responsibility on his shoulder as the skipper was dismissed in the 6th over at just a team total of 37 runs. On a pitch where it seemed difficult to bat on due to the uneven carry, Punjab Kings couldn't carry on with their ultra-aggressive approach.
With Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dhawan etched a partnership of 110 runs in 71 balls for the 2nd wicket. Shikhar Dhawan finished unbeaten for the whole 20 overs, scoring 88 runs in 59 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes. Dhawan maintained a strike rate of 149.15 in his 200th match, smacking his 46th fifty. The 36-year old also became the second batter in the history of IPL to complete 6000 runs in IPL after Virat Kohli.
