In the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy, Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan has been racking up huge runs, with the latest being a 153 against Uttarakhand in the quarter-finals and playing a part in the 41-time champions reaching the semi-finals of the tournament.
In five innings of 2021/22 season of the Ranji Trophy, Sarfaraz has scored 704 runs at a high average of 140.80, with scores of 275, 63, 48, 165 and 153. The right-hander has been in red-hot form in India's premier first-class tournament since coming back to Mumbai jersey in 2019/20 season, amassing a whopping 928 runs in nine innings at an average of 154.66.
Now former India and Mumbai cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar has called for Sarfaraz's inclusion in the Indian team and expressed his surprise over the youngster not getting a look into the national side despite truck load of runs in domestic cricket.
