India vs Sri Lanka 1st T20I: Ravindra Jadeja has over the years proven why he is an invaluable asset for Team India regardless of the format. Making his return to the cricket field after 2 months, Jadeja reminded everyone of his value as he took his first wicket on return and then displayed a celebration inspired by 'Pushpa'.

Sri Lanka while chasing a target of 200 runs in the 1st T20I, got off to a very bad start as they lost in-form opener Pathum Nissanka on the first ball of their inning. Sri Lanka went on to lose two more wickets - Kamil Mishara & Janith Liyanage in 7 overs. Jadeja, who was out of action since November 2021 due to injury, dismissed Dinesh Chandimal in his 2nd over.

In the 9th over of the innings, Jadeja pitched the second delivery short of length and the batter charged towards Jadeja to smack the bowler for runs. However, the pitch assisted with some extra turn which the batter failed to deal with as the ball dodged his outside edge. Ishan Kishan inflicted a rather easy stumping from behind the stumps as Chandimal departed after scoring 10 runs in 9 balls.

After the wicket, Ravindra Jadeja displayed a gesture from the blockbuster movie 'Pushpa', as he slid his hand beneath his beard which is popularly known as the 'Thaggedhe Le' gesture. Jadeja yet again proved his consistent wicket-taking capability on turning tracks and reminded the spectators of his capabilities.
