Despite the Orange Cap holder and Rajasthan Royals' opener Jos Buttler's dismal last few outings, the Royals posted 178 runs on the board against Lucknow in their last match. This was done with a combined effort from young Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal and a few shots at the end from Riyan Parag, Jimmy Neesham, and Ravi Ashwin & Trent Boult. 

RR bowling has been arguably the most lethal bowling attack this season, comprising pacers Trent Boult & Prasidh Krishna and spinners Yuzvendra Chahal & R Ashwin. The re-inclusion of Obed McCoy has also been beneficial as the West Indian picked up 2 wickets against LSG.

Chennai Super Kings have managed only 4 wins in 13 matches so far and would be looking to finish the tournament off with a win. CSK batting showed a confusing approach in their last match against GT, becoming the first team ever in the IPL to not smack a single boundary in the death overs (16-20).
