SRH vs KKR IPL 2022: In the 2022 season, it's been a notable trend that players have been performing well against their former franchises, who released them ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. The latest name added to this line is Rahul Tripathi, who absolutely blazed his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. 

Smacking 71 runs in 37 balls at a strike rate close to 200, Sunrisers Hyderabad's middle-order batter Rahul Tripathi took the game away from KKR's grasp. Amidst this, the right-handed batter smacked 4 fours and 6 sixes.

Kolkata mystery spinner proved fruitless against Hyderabad batters and went for 45 runs in 3 overs without taking a wicket. At the end of the 7th over, the SRH score read 60/2 with Rahul on strike and Aiden Markram on the other end. Tripathi was batting on 29*(12) and looked in dangerous form. 

The 8th over was handed to Varun Chakaravarthy and on the second delivery, a length on delivery allowed Tripathi to loft it inside out over covers for a four. Chakaravarthy tossed the next balls up and outside off and Tripathi lofted it over wide long-off for a six. 

Varun Chakaravarthy went with full delivery on the next ball as well and Rahul replied with another inside out shot, dispatching the ball over deep cover for a six, collecting 16 runs in just 3 balls against the KKR spinner. 

Talking about the match, SRH captain Kane Williamson won the toss & opted to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 25th match of the IPL 2022. KKR posted 175/8 in 20 overs. Nitish Rana was the highest scorer with 54 runs in 36 balls. Russell provided a finishing touch with 49* off 25 balls. For SRH, T Natarajan picked up 3 wickets while Umran Malik picked up 2. Bhuvneshwar, Marco Jansen and J Suchith picked up 1 wicket each.

Even though SRH lost both openers early, Rahul Tripathi 71(37) & Aiden Markram 68*(36) easily cruised the team to victory. For KKR, Andre Russell picked up 2 wickets while Pat Cummins picked up 1.
