WATCH: Rahul Chahar Plays 'Finisher' For Punjab Kings; Smacks 22* Runs Off 14 Balls Against Gujarat Titans

PBKS vs GT IPL 2022: Punjab Kings were on their way to a total of 200 against Gujarat Lions after Livingstone smacked a thunderous fifty. However GT bowlers pulled back with wickets, and yet Rahul Chahar, the spinner for PBKS played the role of a finisher as he smacked 22 runs with a strike rate of 157.14. 

Coming out to bat at #9 and yet just in the 16th over, Rahul Chahar had to hold his end to take Punjab Kings to a good score from 154. Chahar started off cautiously, holding his wicket as he scored 5 runs off 7 balls without a boundary. In the 19th over, the 22-year old opened his arms as he made room and smacked a full-length delivery from Lockie Ferguson for a four.

At the start of the 20th over, being bowled by Hardik Pandya, Rahul Chahar was on strike. He cleanly struck the first ball for a six as he pulled the short length delivery over deep square leg for a six. On the 4th delivery, Chahar shuffled across the line and whipped away a straight delivery, got it square of short fine leg and smacked a boundary. 

With this useful cameo by Chahar, Punjab Kings were able to reach a total near 200 after struggling at a score of 154 with 7 wickets down in the 16th over.

While talking about the match, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss & opted to bowl first against Punjab Kings in the 16th match of IPL 2022. Liam Livingstone continuing his superb form smacked 64 runs off 27 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes. Chahar finished with 22* runs off 14 balls while Jitesh Sharma contributed with an 11-ball 23 including 1 four and 2 sixes in the middle. For GT, Rashid Khan picked up 3 wickets while debutant Darshan Nalkande picked up 2. Shami, Pandya and Ferguson managed 1 wicket each.
