Shubman Gill is in sensational form in IPL 2026, responding to critics in style with consistent runs, explosive strike rate, and match-winning performances for Gujarat Titans.

Shubman Gill’s brilliant 84 on 9th May powered Gujarat Titans to a dominant win over Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Shubman Gill, alongside Sai Sudharsan (55), laid the foundation with a superb 118-run opening partnership as Gujarat posted a season-high and match-winning 229/4 and then dismissed the hosts for 152 in 16.3 overs.

This was GT’s fourth successive win, which lifted them to 14 points alongside Sunrises Hyderabad at the top of the standings and strengthened their playoff hopes. The most noteworthy aspect of the win was Gill’s fluent 44-ball 84, with nine fours and three sixes, registering his fourth half-century of the season.

Shubman Gill, in IPL 2026, is leaving no stone unturned in giving a fitting reply to all his detractors who were almost unanimous in their T20 verdict against him, terming that playing modern T20 is not his cup of tea. He was dropped from India's T20 WC squad, but this shifted his focus towards a quicker batting approach and impressive performance in IPL 2026.

Gradual improvement in Shubman Gill’s SR: He is already ahead of his IPL 2024 strike rate of 147.40 and his IPL 2025 strike rate of 155.88. Success story of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan's partnership: The duo has stitched useful and big opening stands in changing the GT’s fortune. They are very close to the IPL record of 10 centuries scored by the legendary Royal Challengers Bengaluru pair, Virat Kohli & AB de Villiers (in 76 games). Gill and Sudharsan now have nine century partnerships (in 43 games) together in the IPL, at par with Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle’s tally (in 59 games) for the second-most century stands by any pair in the IPL.
