The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) has informed that the players will be considered out of the England tour if they are tested positive on their arrival in Mumbai. 

“The players have been informed to consider their tour over if they are found positive on their arrival in Mumbai as BCCI will not arrange another charter flight for any cricketer,” a BCCI source said. 

The players will have to undergo RT-PCR tests when they check into the hotel in Mumbai and before leaving for England, they are required to have two negative reports. If the families are also with the players then they too will have to turn up with two negative reports. 

Although there is no official update on the number of days the players will be in Quarantine, but BCCI is planning to keep them isolated for 14 days in India and 10 days in England. The 10 day-quarantine period in England will likely be 3-4 days of hard quarantine and in the remaining days, the players will be allowed to train. 

The Indian cricket board has also requested the players to get the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, preferably Covishield, before leaving for England. BCCI is planning to arrange the second dose in the UK only. 

“The players, support staff, and families will be tested and two negative reports are required before they leave for Mumbai. It will be done in order to ensure that they are coming into the bubble without any infection. The players have also been given the option to travel by air or car to reach Mumbai. For vaccination, BCCI has informed the players to take Covishield which they can get in England, and not Covaxin,” the source said. 

India's UK trip will start with them playing the World Test Championship(WTC) Final against New Zealand from 18th June and followed by a five-match test series against England in August.
