20th September, Chandigarh (CRICKETNMORE): A heroic inning by Mitchell Marsh in the end helped Perth to register an emphatic win over Dolphins. Mitchell Marsh struck two sixes from the last two balls to pull off a sensational six-wicket win for Perth Scorchers in the fourth match of Champions League Twenty20 at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium here Saturday.

Set a target of 165 runs, Marsh's (40 off 26 balls; three fours, two sixes) late heroics ensured Scorchers' victory off the last ball of the match.

Earlier, Khaya Zondo's unbeaten 63 off 50 balls -- laced with seven boundaries -- helped the South African side post a competitive 164/7.

Scorchers lost Adam Voges (7 from 13 balls) early in their chase but Craig Simmons (36-ball 48) and Sam Whiteman (45 off 32 balls) kept the scoreboard moving but lost momentum in the later stages of the innings, with the team needing 16 runs off the last over.

It looked all over for Scorchers when 12 runs were needed off the last two balls but Marsh's hitting prowess took them home in stunning fashion.

Brief Scores: Dolphins 164/7 in 20 overs (Khaya Zondo 63 not out, Keshav Maharaj 29 runs; Jason Behrendorff 3/46) lost to Perth Scorchers 165/4 in 20 overs (Craig Simmons 48, Sam Whiteman 45, Mitchell Marsh 40 not out; Kyle Abbott 1/25).

Mitchell Marsh (Man of the match): We were thinking to swing hard and get clean hits. Look, to be honest they bowled well. It is nice to be on the winning side. It is good be in and finish game for the team.

Adam Voges: What a finish! An incredible game! We played well and to hit 12 off the last 2 balls, we can't ask for more entertainment. We bowled very well upfront. They bat deep. We missed a bit in the last overs. We found ways to win games in the Big Bash. That is what we will try to do here.

Morne van Wyk: I am very proud by the way we fought. This game is great for cricket. I feel for the bowler. Got to give credit to Perth, they had momentum and they finished it well. We take a lot out from this. We showed a lot of character. We will take lot of confidence out from this.
