After finishing 2nd on the points table in the league stage, Multan Sultans thrashed Lahore Qalandars in the Qualifier 1 to reach the finals. Kieron Pollard was the top scorer for the team in the qualifier, smashing 57 runs off just 34 balls with a four and 6 sixes. Mohammad Rizwan (33), Usman Khan (29) and Tim David (22*) made important contributions as Multan set up a winning score. 

Sheldon Cottrell was the top wicket-taker with 3 scalps to his name. Usama Mir picked up 2 wickets while Anwar Ali, Abbas Afridi, Ihsanullah and Kieron Pollard managed 1 wicket each as the Lahore Qalandars were bowled out for just 76 runs.

Lahore Qalandars, on the other hand, defeated in form Peshawar Zalmi in the Eliminator 2 to make it to the finals. Chasing 172 runs to win, opener Mirza Tahir Baig was the top scorer as he registered 54 runs in 42 deliveries. However, Sam Billings (28 off 21) and Sikandar Raza (23 off 14) played blitz cameos to complete the run chase for Lahore. 

In the bowling department, Rashid Khan and Zaman Khan grabbed 2 wickets each. However, Rashid Khan was rather expensive as he conceded 42 runs in his 4 overs. Shaheen Afridi also managed 1 wicket after going wicketless in Qualifier 1. However, the Lahore captain conceded 41 runs in 4 overs.
