LSG vs CSK IPL 2022: In the ongoing 7th IPL match between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings, CSK batters rained boundaries as they smashed LSG bowlers all around. Amidst this, spectators got the opportunity to witness vintage Dhoni - the finisher.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, as soon as he came out to bat, showed his skills and age-proof power, smacking a six on the very first ball against Avesh Khan which gave rise to 'Mahi' chants on the ground. Not only did he start his innings off with a maximum but also created a record. Prior to this, MSD had never smacked a six on his first ball of an inning but he deposited the first delivery he faced in the match for a maximum.

On the third ball of the 19th over, MS Dhoni faced his first ball as Avesh Khan bowled a short ball outside off stump line. MS displayed his old self as he smacked the ball with a flat bat over extra-cover. With Thala's power, the ball easily cleared the fence at deep cover.

 

The former CSK captain scored an unbeaten 16 runs off 6 balls with 2 fours and a six. Even though the inning was a brief one, they can prove invaluable as the contest is expected to be a high scoring one where each and every run will count.

While talking about the match, after being put in to bat first by Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul, Chennai Super Kings posted a total of 210/7 on the board courtesy of 50 from Uthappa and 49 from Shivam Dube, along with MSD providing the finishing touch with 16*(6). In reply, LSG started off strong as KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock added 99 runs in 10.1 overs. KL Rahul was dismissed after scoring 40 runs while de Kock smacked 61 runs. Evin Lewis smashed an unbeaten 55 runs off just 23 balls to take Lucknow Super Giants to their first victory in the IPL.
