Sharjah pitches have tended to be slow, Mayank Markande will play a key role in this game. Royals are unlikely to change the combination in this match.

Mumbai Indians' batting has been inconsistent this season. Rohit Sharma needs to up his game for the final push in the race of playoffs. Suryakumar found some form in the last match, he would be hoping to continue with that in this game.

Jayant Yadav had an impressive outing in the last game, he could get another game considering RR's batting having five left-handers.

Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians lead the head-to-head record against the inaugural winners Rajasthan Royals by 12-11. The last time these two teams met in the first leg, MI won by 7 wickets against RR at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
