This happened in the 5th over of Gujarat's inning. Avesh was bowling his first over of the match. Matthew Wade went for a scoop shot to send the ball for a boundary on the third man. Avesh anticipated Wade's move and followed the batter, delivering a fiery delivery on the offside.

Matthew Wade failed to connect with the shot and consequently, the ball went straight to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock after taking Wade's bat's edge. Once again, Wade failed to leave his mark in the IPL 2022.
