Martin Guptill Registers Most Runs By A Batter In T20I, Breaks Virat Kohli's Record

In the ongoing second T20I match between India & New Zealand - Martin Guptill registered a special record to his name. After being put in to bat first, NZ opener Guptill played a thunderous knock of 31 runs in 15 balls, with 3 fours & 2 sixes. With this, Guptill left Virat Kohli & became the player with the most runs in T20I cricket. 

Guptill smashed Kohli's record as soon as smashed 14 runs in the first over itself in the match being played at Ranchi. The NZ opener smashed Bhuneshar Kumar for 3 fours & 2 sixes in this over. 

Virat Kohli has registered 3,227 runs to his name in 87 T20I innings. Martin Guptill now has 3,248 runs to his name in 107 T20I innings. Kohli has been rested for this T20I series against New Zealand and will return for the second test as the skipper of the side.

However, Guptill wasn't able to convert this fabulous start into a big score and was dismissed by Deepak Chahar. Guptill played a superb knock of 70 runs in the first T20I at Jaipur. 

Martin Guptill has also smashed the most sixes in T20 internationals. He has registered 161 sixes in the format till now. Rohit Sharma is second on the list with 142 sixes to his name.
