World Cup final is the most important match for any player in his career and to receive man of the match in it is something a player would love to remember throughout his life. World Cup finals saw some of the finest performances by players which helped their teams to won the title. Players who have won the 'Man of the Match' in the World Cup finals are:

Clive Llyod scored a brilliant century at a time when his team was struggling at 50/3. His innings of 102 came in just 85 balls and helped West Indies to set a cometitive target of 292 for Australia. On the field he ran out Ian Chappell and subsequently took the wicket of Walters. His allround performance along with sharp captaincy earned him the Man of the Match award.

England won the toss and sent the West Indies in to bat. The West Indies were 4/99 but it was solid batting from Vivian Richards who scored an unbeaten 138* and helped West Indies to score 9/286 in 60 overs.Later on, he proved his worth in bowling as well by bowling 10 economical overe in which he conceeded only 35 runs.

In a low scoring final, Amarnath 26 runs proved to be an important contribution in Indian innings of 183. Later on Amarnath bowled 7 economical overs and pick 3 wickets to wrap up the lower order including the wicket of set batsman Dujon. He was awarded man of the match for his allround performance.

David Book gave a rock solid start to Australian innings in the final against England at Eden Gardens, Calcutta. He was involved in two crucial partnerships - 75 run stand with Marsh and a 76 run stand with Dean Jones. It was because of his inning that Australia managed to set a competitive total of 253 in 50 overs. Boon was the only batsman to cross 50.
