KKR vs SRH IPL 2022 - Kolkata Knight Riders made an easy job out of the target defence of 178 and defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 54 runs in a crucial match. 

For Kolkata, all 5 bowlers - Andre Russell picked up 3 wickets & Tim Southee picked up 2, while the other KKR bowlers - Umesh Yadav, Sunil Narine & Varun Chakaravarthy chipped in with 1 wicket each to halt Sunrisers Hyderabad to 123/8 in 20 overs.

Young opener Abhishek Sharma was the top scorer for Hyderabad with 43 runs in 28 deliveries, smacking 4 fours & 2 sixes. Aiden Markram also scored 32 runs off 25 balls with 3 sixes but was dismissed in the 15th over by Umesh Yadav. 

With this win, KKR have moved to the 6th spots on the points table with a good boost to net run rate.

In the first innings, Umran Malik finally regained his form as he helped Sunrisers Hyderabad restrict Kolkata Knight Riders to 177/6 in 20 overs. 

After going for plenty of runs in the last 3 matches, Umran Malik dominated the KKR batters and picked up important wickets of Ajinkya Rahane (28), Nitish Rana (26) and captain Shreyas Iyer (15). 

However, Umran gave away 33 runs and was taken to the boundary multiple times by Nitish Rana and Andre Russell. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen & T Natarajan also chipped in with 1 wicket each. 

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell was the top scorer with an unbeaten 49 runs in 28 balls with 3 fours & 4 sixes. Sam Billings also contributed with 34 runs in 29 balls with 3 fours & a six as he etched a partnership of 63 runs in 44 balls for the 6th wickets after a few quick wickets.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss & opted to bat first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 61st match of IPL 2022. This match was played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
