Dubai, Oct 28 (IANS) India's Virat Kohli dropped a place to be positioned third in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) batting rankings for One-Day Internationals (ODI) released Tuesday as he was overtaken by South African Hashim Amla following the Proteas' 2-0 victory in a three-match series against New Zealand.
AB de Villiers has retained the top spot with 883 points but Amla, with scores of 38 and 119 in the series, closed the gap to 28 points.
Kohli, however, will get a chance to move up the order when he takes the field against Sri Lanka in a five-match series starting Nov 2 as only two points separate the second and third ranked batsmen.
