Karachi Kings have been off to a bad start in PSL 8. After narrowly losing their first match by just 2 runs, they faced a 4-wicket defeat in their 2nd match. While captain Imad Wasim (80*) and Shoaib Malik (52) stepped up with the bat in the first match, Haider Ali was the lone soldier with 59 runs in the 2nd game. However, opener Sharjeel Khan showed signs of good form in the last match as he scored 34 runs off 26 balls and Karachi would hope for the opener to attain a big score soon.

Karachi bowlers have been expensive in their bowling with no stand-out wicket-takers. Muhammad Musa and Mohammad Amir have picked up 2 wickets each at an economy of 12 and 9 respectively, while Mir Hamza, Ben Cutting, Imran Tahir, Imad Wasim and Andrew Tye have managed 1 wicket each. While Hamza's economy stands at 6.50, other bowlers have bowled at an economy rate of more than 8.50.

Quetta Gladiators on the other hand have played just 1 match this season and were convincingly defeated by 9 wickets. The batters displayed a terrible show as none of them, amongst the likes of Jason Roy, Martin Guptill, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal and Iftikhar Ahmed were able to cross even the 30-run mark individually, as the team was bowled out for 110 runs. Jason Roy was the top scorer with 27 runs, while Mohammad Hasnain (22) was the only batter to cross the 20-run mark.

The bowlers didn't have much to defend with. Naseem Shah was impressive still with only 6 runs conceded in 2 overs bowled, while Nuwan Thusara was the sole wicket-taker with 1/21 in 20 overs. The Mohammad trio of Hasnain, Hafeez and Nawaz conceded at an economy of 9.7, 7.5 and 11.20 respectively.
