Jason Gillespie in favour of reviving Champions League T20 ()
Melbourne, June 21। Former Australia speedster Jason Gillespie on Tuesday spoke in favour of resurrecting the Champions League T20 tournament.
Gillespie, who is currently the Yorkshire coach, believes reviving the competition, which was scrapped in 2014 after six seasons, could lift the global profile of local T20 teams.
"There are World Twenty20s but they are at least two years apart. While there may be T20 matches in bilateral series, there are not usually too many of them and let’s face it, they’re a money-grab," Gillespie was quoted as saying by Cricket Australia's website on Tuesday.
