The IPL 2022 Mega Auction Highlights & Team Squads: The mega auction was a roller coaster ride with many twists and turns. After eventful two days, the 10 IPL franchises have gathered an exciting bunch of players who are all set to play in the highly competitive league. Nearly 300 out of 600 players went under the hammer in two days and 235 found a bid for themselves to participate in the IPL 2022. 

The two days saw exciting buying and selling of players but there were also a few nervous moments on the first day when Auctioneer Hugh Edmeads had a health emergency and Charu Sharma had to fill in for him for the rest of the Auction

Ishan Kishan turned out to be the most expensive player in IPL 2022 Auction after Mumbai Indians had to win a bidding war to finally get the wicketkeeper batter for INR 15.25 Crore. The next most expensive was another Indian player - Deepak Chahar, who was bought back by Chennai Super Kings for INR 14 Crores. 

Liam Livingstone turned out to be the most expensive foreign player. Punjab Kings bought the England allrounder for INR 11.5 Crores. Wanindu Hasaranga was the next most expensive foreign buy as Royal Challengers Bangalore had to pay INR 10.75 Crore to win the bidding war for the Sri Lankan allrounder. 

Avesh Khan found some massive interest from the franchises and ended up being the most expensive uncapped player for this season - INR 10 Crores. The fast bowler was bought by Lucknow Super Giants. Australia's Tim David turned out to be the most expensive uncapped foreign player. The allrounder was bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 8.25 Crore. 

One of the moments of this year's Auction was Mumbai saving up for Jofra Archer knowing the England fast bowler won't be available for IPL 2022. Archer was bought for INR 8 Crore and will be teaming up with Jasprit Bumrah next year. 

Notable players who went unsold in this year's Auction were Mr. IPL Suresh Raina, Shakib Al Hasan, Steve Smith, Imran Tahir, and Eoin Morgan

Five teams namely Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians bought all the allotted 25 players in the auction while Delhi Capitals finished with 24 players. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans bought 22 players, Sunrisers Hyderabad 23, and Lucknow Super Giants got 21 players for this season of the IPL. 
Only Lucknow finished full INR 90 Crores purse. Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad finished the INR 10 Lakhs in the purse. Punjab had the most purse left at the end of the Auction - INR 3.45 Crores despite buying 25 players.
