IPL Auction 2022: Liam Livingston Goes To Punjab Kings At A Mammoth Amount

IPL Auction 2022: On the first day of the IPL auction, 97 players went under the hammer, out of which 10 teams bought a total of 74 players while 23 went unsold. On the second day of the auction, Livingstone emerged as a huge earner!

The English player had a bidding war between 5 franchises and ultimately Punjab Kings emerged with the high bid. PBKS paid 11.50 crores to acquire Liam Livingstone. However, was this buy good or not, only time will tell. 

Talking about his earlier performance, Livingstone was part of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 and wasn't able to perform very well. Livingstone batted at all the positions for the Royals but wasn't very effective. 

Livingstone has been performing well in the international circuit but in the IPL he has been silent all along. In the 9 IPL matches he has played, he averages 14.12 for 113 runs and an ordinary strike rate of 126. 

It will be interesting to see how this English all-rounder helps the Punjab Kings franchise who don't have a very good track record in the IPL as well.
