RCB vs MI: In the 5th match of Indian Premier League 2023, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets to start their campaign on a winning note. MI set a target of 172 runs for RCB to win, which the Faf du Plessis-led team achieved in just 16.2 overs while losing 2 wickets. Captain Faf du Plessis scored 73 runs while Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 82 runs. 

Virat Kohli showed his class in this game as he took on Mumbai Indians bowlers and thrashed them around the park. While the viewers were excited to see the battle between pacer Jofra Archer and Virat Kohli, the Indian batter also won this battle in a one-sided manner. Virat showed no mercy to the English pacer on his IPL comeback and boundaries rained from his bat.

In this match, Jofra Archer went wicketless while conceding 33 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Interestingly, 28 out of these 33 runs were smacked by Virat Kohli only. Before this, none of the batters had ever smacked Jofra Archer for so many runs in T20s and this is enough to make one realize the rhythm and form 'King' Kohli was in.

Virat Kohli remained unbeaten till the end as he played a thunderous knock of 82 runs in just 49 balls. Virat also smacked 6 fours & 5 sixes during his inning. RCB have started their campaign with a win this season and would be interesting to see how far the trophy-less Bangalore franchise will go this season. RCB also gave a boost to their NRR in the very first match by chasing down the target in just 16.2 overs and would give tough competition to other teams in the IPL.
