IPL 2023: A total of 87 players were released by the ten franchises as the teams gave themselves a good chance by increasing their remaining purse amount. The teams would be eyeing to buy notable names to fit their team combinations in the mini-auction next month.
The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is six months away and preparations have begun. Annually, the teams revamp their side by releasing some players and increasing their purse amount to buy players up for grabs in the mini-auction. While all ten franchises released certain players, Mumbai Indians released as many as 12 cricketers to boost their purse amount.
Kieron Pollard announced his IPL retirement earlier on November 15th (Tuesday), and was released by Mumbai Indians. Apart from him, some noteworthy exits were Kane Williamson from Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mayank Agarwal from Punjab Kings and Dwayne Bravo from Chennai Super Kings.
