Reece Topley got across to his left and dived to stop the ball. However, he landed awkwardly on his right shoulder and immediately looked to be in a lot of pain. Moments later, Topley walked off the field while having a chat with the RCB physio. Earlier, Topley had grabbed an important wicket in the form of Cameron Green and conceded 14 runs in his 2 overs.

Apart from Topsey, Mohammed Siraj also bowled impressively in the powerplay and managed to put Mumbai Indians on the backfoot from the start. However, youngster Tilak Varma stepped up for the Mumbai Indians as he remained unbeaten after smacking 84 runs off just 46 deliveries with 9 fours & 4 sixes, taking MI to a fighting total in their first match this season.
