BookMyShow, the official ticketing partner of IPL 2022, on Friday announced that the crowd occupancy in stadiums across Mumbai and Pune has been increased to 50 per cent. The announcement by the ticketing partner comes after the state of Maharashtra said it would be lifting all Covid-19 restrictions from April 2.
Currently, the ongoing IPL 2022 is being held in four stadiums across Maharashtra -- Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Brabourne Stadium and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. All these stadiums were hosting a 25 per cent crowd at present.
"Ticket sales for the next set of matches are live even as the BCCI has announced an increase in stadium occupancy to 50 per cent, which was earlier capped at 25 per cent thereby extending the opportunity for many more fans across India and beyond to experience the IPL action live in the stadia," said an official release from the ticketing partner.
