IPL 2022: The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League will kick-off from 26th March, and will be played at the four venues in Maharashtra. With the addition of two teams, the format of the league stage has been changed. 10 teams have been divided into two groups of 5 teams each and this division has been done on the basis of IPL titles won and finals played in the IPL history.
Then, a team will play 2 matches against the other 4 teams in their group, and will play 2 matches against a team which is adjacent to them in group division, and will play only one match against the rest of the 4 teams in the other group.

Group A - Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants

Group B - Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Giants.
For example, MI will play two matches each against the four teams in Group A - KKR, RR, DC and LSG; will play against CSK twice as they are adjacent to each other in the group division, and only 1 match each against SRH, RCB, PBKS and GT.
