IPL 10: Robin Uthappa's 68 takes Kolkata to 172/6 vs Hyderabad ()
Kolkata, April 15 (Cricketnmore) Robin Uthappa rescued Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) from their initial hiccups with a composed 68 that helped his side post 172/6 in 20 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in an Indian Premier League (IPL) game at the Eden Gardens here on Saturday.
Put in to bat by visiting skipper David Warner, KKR lost opener Sunil Narine (6; 9b, 1x4) and skipper Gautam Gambhir (15; 16b, 2x4, 0x6) early to be tottering at 40/2.
Coming in at No.3, Uthappa used all his experience to engineer a crafty 68 (39b 5x4 4x6) along with Manish Pandey who was guilty of a slow start -- scoring only 13 in his first 18 balls -- to finally score a 35-ball 46 (3x4, 2x6). The pair stitched together a 77-run third wicket partnership.
