injury concerns in the nz camp ahead of wi series (New Zealand Cricket)
New Zealand cricket team is going through anxious times with injuries to six of their top players, mostly bowlers, ahead of the series against West Indies that begins this month.
Pace bowlers Tim Southee (back), Neil Wagner (hip/groin), and Matt Henry (broken thumb) and spinner Ajaz Patel (calf) are undergoing treatment. Apart from them, all-rounder, Colin de Grandhomme has a foot injury while middle-order batsman Henry Nicholls has a calf strain.
"Injuries are always a concern and we're certainly monitoring each case closely with our medical staff," New Zealand coach Gary Stead was quoted as saying by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.
