Team India are coming into this tournament with a lot of results not going their way. After getting thrashed by Australia 1-4 in the home series in December 2022, India went on to lose against South Africa in the recently concluded tri-series. India were handed a hefty 130-run defeat by Australia in their first warm-up game as well. However, India defeated Bangladesh by 52 runs in their second warm-up game and finally have some momentum on their back. 

Harmanpreet Kaur will be leading the batting unit along with recent U19 T20 World Cup-winning captain Shafali Verma. Jemimah Rodrigues, who suffered from a bad form of late, has been seen slowly getting into the grove as she smacked 42 runs in 39 balls against South Africa recently. In the bowling department, Renuka Singh and Pooja Vastrakar will handle the pace department along with a third bowler - Shikha Pandey or Anjali Sarvani. Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Devika Vaidya, Radha Yadav and all-rounder Deepti Sharma can comprise the spin department. 

Pakistan were also defeated by Australia 0-2 in a bilateral T20I series last month. Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in their first warm-up game and went on to lose their 2nd warm-up game against South Africa by 6 wickets. Aliya Riaz was the top scorer for Pakistan with 46 runs as her team posted 142 runs, but failed to defend it against the Proteas. 

However, Pakistan defeated India in the last T20I encounter between the two, in the Women's Asia Cup 2022. Even though Pakistan has managed to win just 3 T20Is against India overall, two of them have come in World Cups which is a concerning trivia for the Indian team.
