After clean sweeping the ODI series, team India are set to take on New Zealand in the 3-match T20I series.

IND vs NZ 1st T20I: Match Preview:

Team India will be without big names like Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli in the T20I series as the Hardik Pandya-led T20I side would have opportunities to better their chances for the T20 World Cup in 2024. The batting will be led #1 T20I batter and ICC T20I Batter of the Year 2022, Suryakumar Yadav. Prithvi Shaw has been finally given a chance on the back of an excellent performance in the Ranji Trophy and the young explosive opener would look to leave his mark. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan and Jitesh Sharma will comprise the batting department. 

Recently acclaimed #1 ODI bowler Mohammed Siraj has been rested for the T20I series, and the pace department will be led by Arshdeep Singh along with Umran Malik, Shivam Mavi, Mukesh Kumar and captain Hardik Pandya. The spin department will comprise of wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, supported by all-rounders Washington Sundar and Deepak Hooda. 

New Zealand on the other hand, in the absence of Kane Williamson, Tim Southee and Trent Boult, will be led by all-rounder Mitchell Santner. Michael Bracewell showed excellent form in the ODI series and will be supported by Finn Allen, Devon Conway & Glenn Phillips in the batting department. All-rounders Daryl Mitchell, Santner, and Mark Chapman can also contribute with the bat. 

The bowling on the other hand will be led by Lockie Ferguson in the absence of regular pacers. Jacob Duffy, Henry Shipley, Ben Lister and Blair Tickner will form the pace department, along with all-rounder Mitchell. Spin on the other hand will be led by Ish Sodhi, with Michael Rippon, Mitchell Santner and Mark Chapman.
