India vs England 2nd ODI Probable Playing XI: Who Replaces Shreyas Iyer?

India beat England in the 1st ODI and lead the three-match series 1-0. The two teams will meet each other once again on Friday for the 2nd ODI. 

Indian batting put on a show in the 1st ODI. The openers did their job well giving a steady start to the team. Shikhar Dhawan found form with his knock of 98. He would surely be looking to add those two more runs and reach the three-figure mark. Rohit Sharma injured his elbow and is in doubt for the next match. If in case he is given a rest then Shubman Gill is likely to open with Dhawan in the next match. 

Virat Kohli played a quality knock once again. With Shreyas Iyer ruled out of the rest of the series due to dislocated shoulder, Suryakumar Yadav might make his debut in place of him. Going by his current form, Yadav could play a game-changing inning.  Krunal Pandya played a brilliant knock to give a top finish to the innings along with KL Rahul who also got back his rhythm. 

Prasidh Krishna impressed everyone on his debut and ended the match with the best figures by a debutant for India. Shardul Thakur has been in great touch and will be the X-factor for the team in bowling match winnings spells. Yuzvendra Chahal might come back into the XI after a poor outing by Kuldeep Yadav. 

 

The English openers are a class above the rest in recent times. Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy were looking set to chase down the 318 run total in the last match as they smashed 135 runs in just 14 overs. The middle-order collapse couldn't do justice to their openers' mighty start. 

Eoin Morgan had split his webbing and got four stitches during the 1st game while Sam Billings hurt his collar bone. There is a good chance of Morgan getting fit to play but Billings injury is looking a major one. Liam Livingstone is likely to play in the 2nd game and most likely replace Billings. 

Ben Stokes hasn't won England a match in this despite several good performances. Friday could be his day to finally turn up and win the game single-handedly for his team. If the pitch is once again assisting the seamers as it had in the last game, then Mark Wood could turn out to be the bowler to look forward to. 

India dominated England in the first game and is looking confident to win the ODI series in the second itself. However, the visitors are the top-ranked team in this format and know how to win crucial games. The match could go down to the wire.
