In the first session, Bangladesh resumed their innings at 42/0 on day 4, and the openers played steadily, etching a record-breaking 124-run partnership for the first wicket. Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 67 runs with 7 fours after being dismissed for a golden duck in the first innings.
Shanto was the first wicket of the day as Rishabh Pant took an excellent rebound catch in the 2nd session. However, his opening partner and debutant Zakir Hasan went on in the 2nd session as Bangladesh lost two more wickets on the other end in the 2nd session.
