Rohit Sharma's 60 and disciplined bowling helped India beat Australia by nine wickets in the 2nd warmup match of the T20 World Cup in Dubai.

Chasing 153, India were off to a good start, given by KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma. The duo added 68 runs in 9.2 overs before Rahul got out 39. He hit two fours and three sixes during his knock.

Rohit continued to bat long and find odd boundaries. Suryakumar Yadav was asked to bat at number 3 and find good rhythm going into the world cup. The two added 59 runs for the second wicket before Rohit retired to make way for Hardik Pandya to do the finishing job.

Pandya and Suryakumar scored the last 26 runs in the next three overs as India completed the chase with 2.1 overs to spare.

Earlier, the decision to bat first turned out to be a disaster at first for Australia as they were reduced to 11/3 in three overs. R Ashwin, who was given 2nd over, removed David Warner and Mitchell Marsh on consecutive deliveries while Ravindra Jadeja got Aaron Finch out LBW on the very first ball of his spell.

Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell revived the innings and added 61 runs for the fourth wicket. Maxwell continued his good IPL form and scored 37 before Rahul Chahar bowled him on 37.

Smith and Marcus Stoinis then added 76 runs for the fifth wicket. Smith scored 57 from 48 balls while Stoinis smashed 41 from 25 balls to give a solid finish to the innings.
