IND vs WI 2nd ODI: West Indies' pacer Odean Smith got a place in the playing XI after Windies' skipper Kieron Pollard was ruled out with a niggle in the ongoing 2nd ODI match between India and West Indies at Ahmedabad. Odean grabbed this opportunity with both hands, as he dismissed Indian batters Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli in the same over!
After being put in to bat first, India lost their first wicket in the 3rd over - in the form of captain Rohit Sharma, who was the highest scorer for team India in the 1st ODI. Rishabh Pant opened the innings in a surprising tactic by the Indian team management. After Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Kemar Roach in the 3rd over, Rishabh Pant and former Indian captain Virat Kohli held the crease for the hosts.
However, in the 12th over, being bowled by Odean Smith, Rishabh Pant was dismissed on the first delivery. Odean banged the delivery short and angled it across the left-handed Pant. The southpaw was trying to roll his wrists over the shot, spoons the ball high and behind square on his leg side. Jason Holder ran to his left from mid-wicket and comfortably completed the catch. Pant was dismissed after scoring 18 in 34 balls with 3 boundaries.
