International Cricket Council: ICC chairman Jay Shah has mourned the passing of former Australia captain Bob Simpson, praising his immense contributions to the game and stating that he will be remembered as a true legend of cricket.
On Saturday, Cricket Australia (CA) said Simpson died in Sydney at the age of 89.
"Bob Simpson was one of the true greats of our sport, and it is deeply saddening to learn of his passing. His legacy is immense. As a player, captain, and later as a coach, he shaped Australian cricket and inspired the global game," Shah said in a statement.
