Johannesburg, April 13 (Cricketnmore): West Indian power-hitters Chris Gayle and Keiron Pollard, along with England discard Kevin Pietersen are some of the big names to have signed up for the new #T20 Global Destination League in South Africa, set to take place later this year.
Apart from Gayle, Pollard and Pietersen, Cricket South Africa (CSA) also signed up Dwayne Bravo, Brendon McCullum, Lasith Malinga, Eoin Morgan and Jason Roy on Thursday as the marquee international stars for the tournament for the first two years.
All these players will enter a mini-draft and the franchise owner with the highest bid will get to make the first pick. Since some players have already played in the South African domestic T20 leagues, the CSA will ask the franchise owners to take that into consideration while choosing players in order to maintain strong ties. The teams will also be allocated one South African marquee player.
