England middle order batters, namely - Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali blasted 185 runs between them off just 94 balls, powering England to a mammoth total. Jos Buttler smashed 22 runs off 7 balls while opening but couldn't convert it into a big score. English batters would look to continue their performance from the first T20I and clinch the series.  

With 235 to defend, England bowlers first struck with early wickets, and after a 65-run stand between the South Africans for the 3rd wicket, the English bowlers grabbed timely wickets, halting South Africa much shy of the target. Richard Gleeson picked up 3 wickets while Reece Topley and Adil Rashid grabbed 2 wickets each. Moeen Ali also managed 1 wicket. 

Although South Africa lost the first T20I, Tristan Stubbs' performance would be a huge advantage for them. The 21-year-old batter smacked 72 runs off just 28 balls with 2 fours & 8 sixes. While South African opener Reeza Hendricks scored 57 runs off 33 balls with 9 fours & a six. However, none of the other batters stepped up, causing the Proteas to lose the first T20I.

Lungi Ngidi was sensational with the ball for South Africa as he picked up 5 wickets in his 4 overs, giving away 39 runs. Kagiso Rabada was economical in his spell but went wicketless. The likes of Andile Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj would have to power the bowling further.
