Indian cricket squad would have gained confidence with skipper Rohit Sharma's return in the team after recovering from Covid-19. Team India has played two T20I series in the past two months, one against South Africa was leveled and the second against Ireland was in India's favour. 

Batter Deepak Hooda looked in amazing form right from the Ireland series where he was the leading run scorer with 151 runs. Ahead of the T20I series, India played two practice matches, the first one was against Derbyshire which the team won by seven wickets. Hooda anchored the win by hitting a well driven half-century, which was supported by batters Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav. The second practice match against Northamptonshire was also taken away by India where Harshal Patel outclassed the opponents by his all-round performance. Bowlers were also quite impressive, especially Arshdeep and Umran, who scalped 4-4 wicket each in two matches.

Whereas, Jos Buttler led England team is playing the game according to their will. The English side created history by making highest runs in ODIs against Netherlands where they scored 498/4 in 50 Overs. Buttler sounded unstoppable right from IPL 2022 where he was the highest run scorer and even against Netherlands as he hammered 162 runs of 70 balls with 14 sixes in his fastrack inning. He was accompanied by David Malan (125 runs) and Philip Salt (122 runs) in the same match. England's bowling department also looks composed as they have David Willey who was the highest wicket taker against Netherlands.
