England has well and truly placed itself in the game as the batters made merry of some beautiful conditions in 1st session of day 3 at Lord's. 

Resuming the day at 119/3, Joe Root quickly reached his fifty - his fourth consecutive against India in England. Although the first hour saw India bowling attacking lines, but no assistance from the pitch couldn't help the bowler's case.

Jonny Bairstow, although had a few plays and misses, looked solid as he too got to his fifty later in the session. The two have been batting together for 192 balls now and have already added 108 runs together.
