Easy victory for Knight Riders in CPL 2017 Opener

August 5 (CRICKETNMORE) - Trinbago Knight Riders set up a convincing nine wicket victory over St Lucia Stars in the opening match of the 2017 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at the Darren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia.

Electing to field first, the Knight Riders restricted the Stars to 132 for 9 before chasing the runs in 10.4 overs for the loss of the just one wicket. For Knight Riders, Munro smashed fifty off 25 balls while McCullum reached his off 24, hitting boundaries on both sides of the ground.

The 18-year old Pakistani leg-spinner Shadab Khan who was playing his first match in CPL took 2 for 15 and was adjudged as Player of the Match.
