MI vs PBKS IPL 2022: 'Baby AB' or the 18-year old batter from South Africa, Dewald Brevis, gained a lot of fame and limelight in the U19 World Cup where he showed unreal consistency and stroke play. Dewald's mentor is former great AB de Villiers, and it shows in his batting style. In the ongoing IPL 2022, the youngster made his presence felt as he smacked Chahar for 4 consecutive sixes in an over.
Coming out to bat at #3 after MI lost skipper Rohit Sharma (28) in the 4th over, Dewald Brevis had an uncomfortable start. Struggling against short of good length deliveries against the pacers, the 18-year old targetted Punjab Kings' highest wicket-taker of the season till now and unleashed a show-off of his skill set.
After Ishan Kishan handed the strike to Dewald Brevis on the first ball of the 9th over with a single, Brevis smacked the second delivery for a four. A short ball by Rahul Chahar was smashed straight past the bowler with brute force for a four.
