Melbourne, 28 January। India star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Thursday said he was disappointed but deserved to being left out of the playing XI during the One-Day International (ODI) series against Australia.
Ashwin conceded it was a fair decision taken by the management as he didn't perform well in the first two ODI matches.
After successive losses to the hosts in Perth and Brisbane, Ashwin was dropped in the third ODI. India eventually lost the five-match series 1-4.
"The reason I didn't play was because I didn't win a game for India. If India had won, I would have played, as simple as that...the fact that I went for 70 runs, and then went for 60 run...I had to sit out, and I think it's fair enough because you have to play the right combination," Ashwin said at the pre-match press conference ahead of the second Twenty20 International match against Australia.India lead the three-match T20I series 1-0.
