LSG vs KKR IPL 2022: The 53rd match of the IPL 2022 is being played between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders. Earlier, KKR captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss & opted to bowl first against LSG, after which a mix-up was witnessed between the opening LSG batters and in the very first over, captain KL Rahul was dismissed.
The Lucknow Super Giants captain & opener KL Rahul didn't manage to score a single run or even play a delivery before he had to return to the pavilion. KL Rahul, who is placed second amongst the highest-run getters this season, gave away his wicket against KKR in form of a run-out. However, his opening partner Quinton de Kock can be blamed for the skip's early departure.
This incident happened in the very first over of the Lucknow innings. On the 5th delivery of the over, being bowled by Tim Southee, Quinton de Kock played a shot towards cover and steal a single. He called for the single and KL Rahul ran, following his partner's call. However, de Kock reconsidered his decision as he saw KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer charging towards the ball, and declined the single. KL Rahul had to turn around and return from the middle of the pitch to the non-striker's end.
