David Warner, the 35-year-old Australian opener, was in the news for not so good reasons during the latter part of the first leg and the second leg of the IPL. He was sacked from the Hyderbad franchise's captaincy midseason.
According to reports, Sunrisers Hyderabad sacked Warner as captain as he wasn't performing very well, and looked 'too slow' in his batting approach. Moreover, the most successful batter in SRH history was discarded off as a useless commodity.
On Sunday (November 14), Australia lifted their maiden T20 World Cup trophy after defeating New Zealand by 8 wickets in Dubai. David Warner scored 53 runs in 38 balls with 4 fours & 3 sixes and helped play a pivotal role along with Mitchell Marsh, in winning the match. Warner has also been adjudged the 'Player Of The Tournament' as well.
