Cameron Bancroft has changed his stance regarding the ball-tampering scandal in 2018 and has said that he has no new information to share with Cricket Australia(CA) for further investigation. 

The 28-year-old reignited the buried 'sandpaper scandal' in an interview with The Guardian where he hinted that the bowlers might have known about the attempt to change the condition of the ball. 

"Yeah, look, all I wanted to do was to be responsible and accountable for my own actions and part. Yeah, obviously what I did benefits bowlers, and the awareness around that, probably, is self-explanatory," Bancroft had told UK based newspaper. 

His revelation followed CA once again opening the case and being open to "new information". The board then approached Bancroft, who is currently in England to play county cricket for Durhan, to share any new information he might have, which the right-hand batter denied. 

"Bancroft, who is playing county cricket in the UK, had responded overnight on Monday in a conciliatory manner and indicated that he did not have significant new information to share with CA," the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper said. 

"Bancroft is said to have told CA he is supportive of the investigation and satisfied with the outcome," it added.

The report in the Australian daily said that 'the matter is now unlikely to be escalated'.
