Mumbai Indians will be facing Punjab Kings in the 23rd match of the IPL 2022 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. While MI is still searching for its first win of the season, PBKS will look to get back on the winning way after losing the last game.

Let's take a look at the best impact players to watch out for in the MI vs PBKS IPL match today:

Trending

1) Ishan Kishan - The wicketkeeper batter had a decent start to the season scoring 81 in 48 and 54 in 43 in the first two matches. However, the last two matches haven't been the best for him (14 in 21 and 26 in 28 balls).

However, the plus point is, that Ishan is among runs. With the middle order consisting of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma doing good, Ishan will have a cushion to show intent right from the beginning. Ishan has the ability to take down each type of bowling Punjab has to offer. Expect Ishan to play a quickfire knock today.

2) Tilak Verma - The 19-year-old middle-order batter has been playing some serious cricket for Mumbai this season. In the four matches, Tilak has been the most consistent batter, scoring 121 runs in 78 balls he has faced at a strike rate of over 155.

Tilak has scored at an SR of over 140 against off-spin, right arm pace, and leg-break. Specifically, vs Leg-spin, Tilak has scored 42 runs in 23 balls at a strike rate of over 182.

3) Rahul Chahar vs Mumbai Indians

The Punjab Kings leggie has picked up seven wickets in four innings so far this season. Chahar has been very effective bowling in the middle overs. Chahar playing against MI will be an interesting battle, not because of the leggie's history with his former franchise, but since on paper the Mumbai batting order is well equipped to play wrist spin.

None of the batters have a strike rate of less than 130 playing wrist spin. Going by the current form, the four overs of Chahar vs MI will be a contest to watch out for.

4) Mayank Agarwal - The Punjab Kings captain hasn't started his season so far. Mayank has scored just 42 runs in four innings in 40 balls he has faced. However, MI's bowling isn't as effective this season and Mayank could take down bowlers.

Since 2020, Mayank has never scored at a strike rate of less than 105 against any type of bowling. He has the ability to control the inning and play his shots at will. Once Mayank counters the early swing, Mayank will be tough to stop.
